How a Retired Fisherman Became Refoam’s Most Active Volunteer
Feb 22, 2025
Meet Olu—a retired fisherman who now spends his mornings picking up what the tides bring in.
After spending 40 years at sea, Olu saw firsthand how plastic and foam had changed coastlines. So when he heard about Refoam, he didn’t hesitate.
“I used to chase fish. Now I chase foam,” he laughs. But he’s serious about the mission.
Olu’s efforts have cleaned over 3,000 square meters of beach, inspired local youth, and earned him the nickname “Foam Whisperer.”
He reminds us that age is not a limit—it’s a legacy.
